Welcome to the annual new years post from VocaDB! It is time to report on what happened in 2025 and what is coming in 2026.

First, we would like to thank all site visitors and editors, trusted users and moderators. Last year we got more site traffic and support than ever before. The user base, comments and edits have grown immensely. Currently, the database contains over 137 100 artist entries, over 35 300 album entries, over 826 900 song entries, over 8 500 event entries and over 5 200 tag entries. As of now, VocaDB counts over 21 600 registered users.

Since we restarted annual social media posts, showing VocaDB song rankings, we gained a lot of followers there as well. Check out our X/Twitter and Bluesky account to see for yourself.

In 2025, the VocaDB wiki was updated with individual and re-usable rule pages among other developmental and content-related changes.

The VocaDB Discord also got some updates: we added more channels and restructured the categories. This year we reached the 1000 user threshold.

The main website updates from 2025/early 2026:

  • Addition of a new background theme
  • Addition of the new artist type “Band/unit”
  • Better and faster image hosting
  • Image previews on all edit pages
  • Updates to the infrastructure and database
  • Various bug fixes

Last time, we told you about “Project Mirai”, our website revamp. We’re still working on it, but making great progress. Thank you for your patience as we prepare to deliver a faster, more stable website with a new UI and additional features.

Before we head into the statistics, here is a recap of the most important voice synth related events that happened in 2025.

Many voice synth characters celebrated their 10th release anniversary, these are the highlights: ARSLOID, the CeVIO Color Voice group by JOYSOUND (Akasaki Minato, Ginsaki Yamato, Kinzaki Koharu, Kizaki Airi, Midorizaki Kasumi, Shirosaki Yuudai), CYBER DIVA, DAINA & DEX, Daisy, Kazehiki, Kuzuda Rou & Kuzuda Yone (three of the many characters created by Kurukuru Suuzi), Mawarine Shuu, Minase Kou, Number Bronze, OИE, Ruby, Sachiko, Sekiga Yuuma, Sonata, the Touhoku sisters Touhoku Itako & Touhoku Kiritan, Xin Hua, Yuezheng Ling
