Now I dunno if I’m just repeating a broken record but why is minimum wage 1200¥ at the highest when minimum rent is like 50,000¥. It has me realizing that even if I work 10 hours a day I’m only able to make just enough to not get evicted, if I get sick I’m cooked.

I was born in matsuyama Ehime and I feel like I’ve been seeing the country that raised me get skinned before my eyes. like Wdym chocoballs is like 214¥, that’s like 1/8 an hour of my human life

Genuinely a bit scared to make this post, so please be nice. I am an (ancient) Epic Seven player who got excited seeing that the devs released a new game, albeit me being a bit late to the party.

I love the gameplay and voiceovers [JP], and I'm fine with the change to chibis and general stylistic differences too. However, I'll try to say this nicely, but as a female player I am rather put off by the visuals this time. Yes, sure, Epic Seven has some slightly out there cards, but nothing that comes close to the vast majority of 5-star cards in ChaosZeroNightmare.

I'm not demanding every female character in a videogame ever needs to have realistic proportions, but the extreme proportions here on a majority of the female characters really bugs me.

I don't know whether I'll keep playing or not because the visual ick is quite strong. Not here to judge people who like this style, it just isn't for me - and I'd say I'm generally lenient about these things.

Does anyone else feel similarly? Am I missing something? Did the devs want to go in a very different direction with this game?

Honestly I'm not sure there's any real advice to give me here I'm just curious if anyone else feels similarly or gets where I'm coming from. Again, none of this is an attack on those who like the character designs, it's just my feelings on the topic.

Just observing that my gym hasn't gotten any busier in the new year here.

This is my first January living in Japan, in Tokyo. But it's nice that my gym didn't become the typical fully wedged workout zone this month that I had gotten used to living in Europe, Canada, and the US. If anything it's gotten quieter.

I'm not someone who's mad into the gym, just go once or twice a week. But either way we'd always call the January rush the "New Year, New Me-ers", they'd ususally be gone again by late February.

Curious if other people who have lived in other countries have noticed the same?
