A pickup truck caught fire on Interstate 15 near Parowan on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident, which was reported shortly after 2 p.m., involved a black Dodge Ram that was heading north on I-15 near mile marker 75, just before the exit at the south end of Parowan.
Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Clay Allred said fire crews from both the Parowan and Paragonah fire departments responded and were able to extinguish the flames.

Photo courtesy of Cheryl BoyerUHP troopers on scene said the driver pulled over to the left shoulder of the roadway after noticing smoke and fire. The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was able to safely get out.
No injuries were reported.
Traffic was briefly impacted by closures of the left lanes on both the southbound and northbound sides of I-15 while the fire crews suppressed the blaze, Allred added.

As previously reported, engine and/or transmission fires have been reported as a known issue on certain models of Dodge Ram trucks. Owners of such vehicles are encouraged to check the following search tool on the Dodge website for any recalls or recommendations.
