I am a 45 -year -old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father raising my son, who is now 14 years old. My son won this game from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. Until the end of the week he had 24 hours in this game. This was horrible for me, because it was hard to find ways to spend time with my son, because he is always with friends or just watching You Tube. So I decided to do a Steam account and get this game to see if I could play beside him. I bought the game, chose my survivor and level and started playing, but I was stuck in what you should do. I asked my son for help and he organized a game for me to participate. I loved it, because it was the best time I spent with my son since my wife died. Since then, this game has approached me and my son again and now we spend time together away from home as well. This game reminded me that there is fun in everything, and I brought many happy memories to me and my son.

Look between their first game in 2022 and this game. There is absolutely no way they coded any of this themselves. There is absolutely no way they made the music or drew anything in the game. It's 100% AI.

But I'm not going to judge it based on the usage of AI. Is it a fun game? Eh and not really. There's no progression, no reason to keep playing, and no real challenge. At first it seems like you can manage your cards to at least balance how many points you can definitely earn vs probably contest. Then there are more keywords introduced, including Buried which makes your card or the opponent's card invisible until it's time to challenge both cards. This would be a good idea if it had pvp matches. It's purely pve. So essentially it only works against you while having no real bearing for how the AI plays against you.

The music isn't as bad as their first game, but it's still bad when compared to standard or mainstream music. There's no option to lower the volume or mute in game, but you can use system audio on your pc to mute the game that way. Just like any other application on your pc.

That aside, as long as you're willing to stay ignorant behind how the game development and design works, it can be a fun mindless pastime that you can quit at any time without penalty. Considering there's zero penalty or reward. Or purpose. Or progression. And there will never be an update again according to the dev. And the next game they make is likely to be just as lazy. But doesn't necessarily deserve a thumbs down considering it's a free game.
