Fun fact: E isn't the opposite of steroids, it IS a steroid. Steroid is simply a group of hormones, including both estrogen and Testosterone. It's therefore 100% true when I say that I'm trying to get my therapist to give me steroids rn.

The estrogen makes trans women better at video games cause it in general improves mood & mental state which is one of the most important things for improving at competitive games. For a cis guy on average it would actually reduce mental state and in general make them worse at the game. (google biochemical dysphoria for more info. it's like a diesel engine running on gasoline and vice versa) You getting a better winrate is likely just from getting in more practice as you've been playing a ton of games and not related to the estrogen itself. Also in general 3 months is considered the cutoff date for permanent changes and I personally went off E way later into my transition to freeze sperm and was still fertile tho ymmw

Great video! I wanted to point out that getting HRT is just as hard even if you are trans. It took me 5 months to start HRT after I first started actively pursuing it, and I consider myself one of the lucky ones - I already had a therapist I could ask for a letter of recommendation, insurance coverage, and a PCP who could refer me to an endocrinologist. It can take literal years. There are some places & providers that will refuse HRT to you if you haven't already socially transitioned (presented as the opposite gender assigned at birth in public) for at least a year. Unfortunately, while I'm approaching 2 years on estrogen I don't have much to say about my gaming performance. I've pretty much completely lost interest in competitive gaming and first-person shooters in the time since. But I have doubled down on my lifelong obsession with roguelikes and I'm arguably better at them in general than I was a few years ago.

Going into this I was dreading overwhelming misinformation and misrepresentation, but I am absolutely amazed by the quality of this video. You managed to give a pretty good overview of how hard it is to get HRT, why DIY HRT exists and very roughly how it works without exposing any critical information. I'm especially impressed by you giving an explanation of how the body absorbs estrogen and some of the different forms it can be taken in. Obviously not everything was covered and there were some slight changes I would've made but for a 14 minute video about League of Legends this is incredibly well done. I wish I could like the video multiple times. Cheers!

trans woman here. the reason so may trans people get extremely good at their hobbies is with the trans psychology. We have generally a slightly different brain to the one our assigned sex has, this leads to a large amount of dissociation and a tendency to preoccupy yourself with anything. Thats why you see so many Trans coders and comp sci specialists. same thing apply to games, we constantly escape into something leading to almost a need to progress to spend more time in the hobby. at least thats my take on the matter.

I feel obligated to point out that if you were only taking oral estradiol (not sublingual) without spiro or another AA, your E levels were almost certainly still very low and your T would have remained high. That's severe underdosing, to the point where it would be almost negligible. That being said though, willingly giving yourself dysphoria for League of all games is insane and hilarious.
