At first, I was very surprised that Trump was enacting any legislation I agreed with. Then I realized that his daughter-in-law, Lara, is a big animal rights advocate. Perhaps she has his ear on this. Whatever the reason, I am very thankful this issue has been given more attention and funding!

Thank goodness for the animals sake! This is an extremely smart move and it goes way beyond animals. Serial killers, mentally ill people and predators start with animals and eventually go to humans. Keeping tabs on animal abuse behavior could help catch them in the future. Common sense. Jeffrey Dahmer, for example. If he would’ve been reported for abusing animals as he was, someone could’ve kept an eye on him and it could’ve been prevented. Common sense. Animal abusers are sick twisted People that will eventually hurt humans! 

Ok….dont forget to add, that we can claim our fur babies as dependents

Yes! Florida passed Trooper's Law and Dexter's Law......I think it should be nationwide to protect our animals and also a nationwide database where they are tracked. I believe it should pertain to all animals!

I did an awful lot of fighting puppy mills when I lived in New Mexico and it's really countrywide. I'm glad they're doing more about it.

I hope so. Also more action with abandoned animals. I also think the Government needs to put lots of money into real rescue groups and also cities and small towns animal shelters. It also needs to have their computers hooked up to each other. Elon needs to get on that. That way if an animal gets taken and it ends up 3 cities away. They can see if the animal belongs to someone in another city. Also all animals must be registered with a vet or town. I also think they can communicate with vets. I think, if the Government can support other countries. They can start supporting the animals. Make an office for it. Put into law also.

I do not care about all the negative comments about Trump....this is a good thing for pets, animals...let's stick to the issue

We need a federal animal abuse registry. Require convicted individuals to register the same as sex offenders. Prohibit registered animal abusers from owning animals. Its far past time. The existing penalties are obviously insufficient as we hear horrible accounts of abuse nationwide daily. I would contribute to the campaign of anyone willing to champion this legislation.
