Vice President JD Vance has seemingly confirmed that the ICE agent who killed a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis on Wednesday has "absolute immunity" from criminal charges.

"He is protected by absolute immunity," Vance said. "He was doing his job. The idea that Tim Walz and a bunch of radicals are going to go after and make this guy's life miserable because he was doing the job that he was asked to do is preposterous."

Speaking from the White House, Vance provided reporters with more insight into what will happen once the agent, identified by name, is out of recovery. "So the head of Minnesota's investigations agency says that the U.S. attorney's office has essentially cut off the state investigations agency's access to the investigation," One reporter asked.

"What is the precedent for that and why shouldn't the Minnesota officials on the ground have access and evidence to work on this investigation?" Vance retorted, "First of all, I wish the state officials in Minnesota would investigate why you have so many people who are using their vehicles and other means to actually interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation."

According to Vance, "The precedent here is very simple." He added, "You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action."

"That's a federal issue," Vance commented. "That guy is protected by absolute immunity."

The vice president then added that the agent was "just doing his job." Vance sneered, "The idea that Tim Walz and a bunch of radicals in Minneapolis are going to go after and make this guy's life miserable because he was doing the job that he was asked to do is preposterous."

Shutdown

It was reported that the Kash Patel-led FBI has shut down the investigation into the ICE after expressing the desire not to participate in a joint investigation. Authorities said they are unable to access crucial evidence that could shed light on the circumstances surrounding the deadly encounter, which left one individual dead.

Investigators with the state emphasized that cooperation from federal authorities is critical to completing the investigation and holding responsible parties accountable, while Donald Trump was called a 'disgrace to humanity' by furious Americans for his statement. The FBI has not publicly explained why it declined the joint probe, citing standard procedures for sensitive cases.

The head of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Thursday that the U.S. attorney’s office had barred it from taking part in the investigation. "The investigation would now be led solely by the FBI, and the BCA would no longer have access to the case materials, scene evidence or investigative interviews necessary to complete a thorough and independent investigation," Evans wrote.
