Sometimes I do miss being Pieguy. The Internet landscape has changed so much in the past few years, I'm not even sure there would be anything to come back to. It is tempting though.... Rest assured, I'm doing well in my private life and I've done a lot of further reflection on my Youtube run. I was so frustrated and bitter with that last goodbye, and that's such a bad way to leave things with you guys. You deserve better, so let's try something a little more sincere: Youtube was my escape when I was young and lonely and desperately wanted to talk about SpongeBob or Adventure Time with anyone. You guys gave me that escape when I needed it. That escape from feeling like I was the only one obsessed with TV. You showed me, I wasn't alone, and that a video about venting my frustrations about things that were way out of my control was something that people actually found entertaining and fun. Also, not for nothing, but the revenue made from these videos helped me escape from the tedious 9-5 job, and show me that there was another way to survive in this world. Thank you, for all that and more. I believe that media analysis is important. The act of engaging in debate with people who don't think the same as you is critical practice to getting along in this country. If we can't politely agree to disagree about how gross a splinter in a Sponge character is... how can we possibly do the same for the bigger issues? I also think I need to apologize for the Hillenburg video. I've explained myself many times on this, but this time I'll just say I'm sorry for including anything that even came close to putting words in his mouth. Interviews from decades ago and a vague statement from a collaborator are not definitive proof, and I truly do not know anything about the man. I still think Paramount is a greedy, unethical, trash company that does not give two craps about what any creative thinks, but in this particular instance I went too hard over something I did not have solid evidence on. Now, it's very ironic that people have been putting words in MY mouth about what I've said on the subject... but ah well, that's the internet. To state it again: I do not condone harassing people for making a thing I don't like! To anyone who thinks I ruined the SpongeBob community...... you really haven't been in the SpongeBob community long enough lol. I hate unlisting videos, but I'll do it on this one, since people feel I'm spreading misinformation. If you have the link, you can still see it, for historical reasons. There, I can finally put that behind me. I hope each of you are having a great life, and enjoying the great crop of new creators that have really come in to their own in the past few years. P.S. Fionna and Cake Season 2 is a huge mess, and has tempted me to come out of retirement to do an analysis of it (the good and the bad).... but we shall see ;)

Glad to see you're doing well offline. I hope whatever decision you'll make, whether it be to dawn the online persona of Pieguy again, or be happily content away from the internet will make you feel comfort further down the road. I still binge your Spongebob and Adventure Time videos. You're like ASMR and humor combined in a chill atmosphere. I still can't get "Scumbob, Scumbob, SCUMMBOOOB!" from the Choir Boys review out of my head. You're a great guy, I can tell from how you acted at the end of the Spongebob Season 10 video you clearly had some background stuff on the mind. It's ok to remain retired, or return. Regardless, there's always a day for videos, but not to regain lost time taken out of life stuff. You're right about the internet changing. One day we're seeing a trend of kids committing felonies for TikTok clout, the next we're seeing everyone unite to hate Roblox for defending child prXdators and sending court ordered Cease and Desist to the pred catchers. But everything just happens as one big boom, then another big boom. Nothing really gradual. Point is, you're right about Youtube being an escape. But sometimes, it now feels like Youtube is what we want to escape FROM. Internet really has changed. But I always think it is better to retire or be obscure in a small candlelight, than to bathe in the light from the fires of hell. So whether you want to return for more slice or keep the tray empty, there's also a spot in the fridge for your wonderous pie face. :P Take care, PGR.

Honestly, based on the videos I've seen, your format actually aged pretty well, I think you could come back without missing a beat. And I'd be down to watching that Fionna and Cake Season 2 video, even as someone who hasn't even watched Adventure Time--

I would love for you to come back and make a video about Fiona and Cake season 2 as I agree with your assessment and theirs some interesting stuff to talk about. If you dont though its always nice to hear your perspective on things and I hope you continue to do well in your personal life.

So nice to hear from you, Pieguy. The other day I was watching the latest Family Guy Christmas special, and Peter was working at a pie shop. At one point they called him "pie guy" and it made me think of you :) Glad to hear things are going well for you. If you ever do decide to come back, we'll be here :)

I cannot believe you made a post. Even after you said goodbye, I stayed subscribed. I didn't think you would ever comeback to YouTube, whether it was to make a video or not, but here you are. Also, I think season 2 of Fionna and Cake is great, but hey, agree to disagree 😉.

I was just watching your videos yesterday, as I've been binging season 11 of SpongeBob since December. I started watching your stuff when i was 12, and I'm 18 now. I'm sure I'm not the only one you've inspired to look at and over-analyze cartoons either. Whether you come back or not, you left a great legacy behind you, and I'm glad your life is going well off the internet!

you were one of my favorite youtuber during my middle school year watching the Spongebob Retrospective, Well do what you want, no one forcing you to do youtube like you don't have to force yourself to make video but I you really want to do it go for it, but it your choice I respect what evere you decide to do
Hearing something about you again was definitely unexpected. I knew it ringing the bell and subscribing to you would be worth it! Even though I didn't agreed with you most of the time (cough) your Disney Channel in particular your Hannah Montana rant, was your channel a nice change and your thoughts about some of these Nickelodoen episodes (especially the SPECIFIC iCarly episodes IYKYK) was definitely entertaining to watch. 🥧

Hey man, your spongebob review series was a great one. I think I watched all of them through at one point, it was good stuff. Regardless of what you do going forward, you've already made a difference to at least me as a watcher of youtube videos.

I've been a watcher since I was 14...still showing love to your videos till this day by sharing them with friends and constantly rewatching them. You're more than welcome to decide if you want to pick up the mantle again or keep living your life, your channel, your choice; but me and everyone else can safely say that we have been missing you after all these years. :)

I'm just happy to hear from you again since the goodbye was so abrupt that it really felt like stuff was left unaddressed. Whatever it is you wanna do, I support it. I'd love to see you come back but also got the feeling from that goodbye message that you were in some way ashamed of the stuff you made, but people really love it. Being dorky on the internet sometimes is complete safe when everyone around you is a nerd with the same interests. Whether you wanna just do videos in a totally different way that suits you more nowadays, wanna stay free from the pressure to constantly put out content that YT can suck you into or if you don't wanna continue at all, it's all good and totally up to you. I'm just happy to see you're doing well.
