No. The current rateup is for the newly released Mitsumoto Dia, along with the previous 2 newest characters Shiroe and Suisui. Had you become interested a couple weeks earlier, then she would've been on rateup.

Cosmetics are seperate articles between head, face, body, back (for wings and stuff), both hands, tail, and in-game music. Just about everything can interchangeably be worn between all characters, but certain outfits provide special artwork when worn with their respective characters.
>How much money am I looking at throwing away?
That solely depends on whether you plan to play on arcade in the future. Got a passport or a friend in Japan ready for that?
>How miserable does ping make the game?
Lag is pretty inherent to the game no matter what. Your ping depends on your connection quality and distance from the servers. Adjacent countries benefit regarding distance, but it should be playable across most of continental US and Europe.

Grim Aloe is currently featured in the arcade(available only in Japan) banner but not in the Konasute(The computer version) banner. To elaborate on your question, Konasute's anniversary is coming up soon, and they will be offering one free girl ticket per account. If you are patient and create new accounts until you get Grim Aloe, you can get her for free soon.

It's up to you. Initially, I recommend not spending anything until you find out whether you like the game or not. As it is a gacha, prices vary from person to person. Just a cosmetic for your in-game model with some costumes changing the art work. These are given away during events, but you could also get them in the gacha but I feel like there's much harder to pull than the characters.

The game is free to play. Each day, you can play 5 games to earn 10 tickets to roll on the free gacha. It's 100 tickets for a ten roll which you should always save up for. Singles are shit. Arcade is cheaper than rolling on PC.

As an US East Coast player, I kinda got used to it though I do get some connection dropouts sometimes. I sometimes don't notice it or it doesn't bother me much, but that's because I mostly play Hiiro. I feel like Blocker can get away with lag while Attacker and Shooter might have some trouble. It also kinda depends on character too. I have an easy time playing Olive with my ping thanks to her homing rockets and flamethrower war crime. I dunno.

having multiple accounts allowed me to test all sorts of things. for example, when pinezuri picks sepia, some of the gms will pick tsugaru. there's multiple counterpicks that regularly come specifically from some of the higher rated players. these seem to be targeted at pinezuri afaict

there were a few funny things that happened throughout the years too. like one day i was queuing after maintenance and i ran into poopoo. this was when we played the pine vs aquakek 1v1 with those 2 webms of his aqua dying. after that i had to farm tickets for other accounts, i waited a bit to see if i'd avoid him but still ran into him. we had a oren vs grey 1v1. or maybe it was a best of 3? i remember he won, 1x0 or 2x1 or whatever. i thought he'd notice it was my alt at the time

anyway this would also let me see how people would react differently to each account. for example, my low profile account got some complaints for lag, my "defense" playing account got almost none (lag helps blockers etc lol). people would start shit with pinezuri more often, get into grudge matches etc

i was surprised when pinezuri got such a bad rep too, i didn't intend to be a big griefer. but i embraced it. it was also funny when people accused nakadashitai of being the real account owner

another funny thing, at some point, nigga was like "i have 3 accounts above S, if you don't do that you just got lucky or whatever". at the time i actually had 1 account at SS and 2 at S so that made me laugh a bit. i remember when poopoo challenged me to race to SS too, i wanted to tell the truth back then but i figured he was doing it because his interest in the game was waning and he'd leave soon/eventually. turned out i was right in the end

as for nakadashitai, i can only look at him as a pathetic simp now. selling out a peer to try to save face while simping for a 20 view streamer. while posting as if you're acting like a normal person. i have no words (literally post limit). F

Both Momopyun and Shiro is already good without gacha skill, Emera is usable without them and if you got all of Oren's skill she's one of the strongest attacker if you master skill switching and iframe. If anything more gacha characters need gacha skills like Aqua's block or Shiroe's rocket.
