I was born on a snowy day in January 1981 in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture. Neither my parents nor any relatives were involved in calligraphy. My grandmother, who was born in the Taisho era and experienced the war, wanted me to learn calligraphy. Influenced by this, I attended calligraphy classes from a young age. But, since calligraphy was my only skill, at the age of 15, I decided to make a living by writing and dropped out of high school. I then relearned my calling, which I was good at, and obtained my calligraphy instructor license at the age of 21. I then began my career at the age of 23. I have worked in a variety of commercial calligraphy projects. 2025 will mark 22 years. Because drawing has saved my life, rather than running a regular calligraphy or calligraphy school, I have prioritized emotion and the joy of sharing over technique, and have pursued calligraphy as an art form that anyone can enjoy.
