Creating Monthly KPI Financial Review KPI using numerical sorted months in Power BI(.pbix included)

When building KPI dashboards in Power BI, one common challenge is ensuring that months are displayed in the correct chronological order. By default, categorical month names (Jan, Feb, Mar…) may appear alphabetically, which disrupts the logical flow of financial reviews. To solve this, analysts often create a numerical month column that enforces proper sorting. This approach makes KPI visuals more intuitive and accurate, especially when tracking trends over time.
