Visual effects veteran and tech entrepreneur with over 28 years of experience driving innovation in Media & Entertainment and AI infrastructure. Co-founder of three companies, including 3vis, which became Canada’s leading Autodesk M&E partner before its acquisition by Scalar Decisions. At Scalar, played a pivotal role in scaling the M&E portfolio and expanding its industry presence. Joined Hypertec in 2019 to build its M&E strategic vertical, later becoming Global Director of Product Strategy. Transitioned a few years later into AI product strategy within Hypertec’s Cloud division.

Oriol Chavanel

Technical Alliances Manager & OCP Lead, Submer

Oriol Chavanel is a Technical Alliance Manager for Server and Chip vendors at Submer. Oriol is also the company’s OCP Community representative, responsible for supporting the Power Distribution in Immersion roadmap and contributing to the wider adoption of immersion among community members.

Oriol has more than ten years of experience in the IT infrastructure space, with experience in systems engineering, product delivery and installation. With a team of more than +25 engineers, he was managing TD Synnex EMEA Datacenters for the previous 6 years before joining Submer as Service Delivery Manager.

Patrick Scateni

Patrick Scateni, a high-impact technology leader, drives Hypertec’s global sales and product marketing efforts, championing the company’s innovative immersion cooling solutions.

With over three decades of executive experience across sales, marketing, and product development, Patrick is a strategic leader with a proven track record of driving market adoption. He played a pivotal role in the development of Hypertec’s industry-leading CIARA High Performance Computing and Hyper-Scale product lines. Notably, he spearheaded the creation of the CIARA ORION HF, recognized as the world’s fastest x86 single and dual processor server line for demanding applications like high-frequency trading and AI. Patrick also led the development of the latest CIARA TRIDENT Immersion-Born line of products.

Prior to Hypertec, Patrick held key management positions, including Director of Direct Sales at GE Capital ITCS in France and Vice President at Maximum Throughput Storage Company. He was also a founding member of the Intel Channel Board of Advisors, actively advising from 2002 to 2010.

George Zhang is the vice president of R&D of Valvoline Global Operations (a wholly owned subsidiary of Aramco) based in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, where he leads R&D innovation, long-term strategy and capability development.
