>>48193Yeah, that's my point. 7 was sloppy all over, but still manages to be really fun because Project Aces is actually talented and cares about what they're making. Hopefully, 8 will be a really tightly designed game like 6 with some features from Zero (Ace Squadrons and the morality system) and 7 (Flares and plane performance customization. If weapon mods come back, they need to be way more generous with default ammo counts and performance. 6 did not have a problem with this despite the number of targets), and maybe even Assault Horizon (Plane color customization). Add co-op (seems very likely this time because of the Steam page) and Ace of Aces mode DLC to remix the campaign missions on a shoestring budget, and it could actually satisfy the fanbase for the 7 or 8 years we'll need to wait until AC9 comes out.
Oh, and less mission timer/time attack stress. Time attack missions get old because you end up using the same strategies on your 10th+ playthrough because at that point you're strategizing against the timer more than playing the game. Ironically enough, there are some operations in 6 where you do need to go fast to be successful, so people who like that sort of gameplay can still enjoy it without forcing others to endure it all the time. The main thing with 6 is that the overall time you have to complete a mission is much longer. So even though you can fail an operation, you can usually beat the mission. Then you can later replay the mission to complete operations that you previously failed, and you can even get different scores for different operations. It's more forgiving for newer players and more replayable for veterans.
