The man was bushwalking off Clover Hill Road and when he arrived at Jump Rock he attempted to leap into the water but he hit the surface hard.
The 23-year-old suffered a significant shoulder injury and an ambulance was called about 11.30am on Wednesday, January 7.
Special operations paramedics and police rescue crews trekked into the bush to find the man and treat him at the scene.
At 2pm, emergency crews were still with the man and assessing how to remove him from the bush. At this stage no rescue helicopter has been called in.
This is the second jump incident in the past 24 hours that has left a person injured, after a woman leapt from a ledge into a rock pool at The Farm in Killalea on Tuesday.
