my system is centred around rapid collection and banking as i'm the type to open 5 tabs and then 5 more tabs from each tab while looking for gems, saving about 50% of the 100-200 videos from a session. a few rapid fire scrubs along the video and snap save/close decision within 10 seconds

I use a software called mediachips. I tried multiple ones, I used to use "porganizer" a long time ago, but so far mediachips has been the most convenient one for me.
You have a page with all your performers, you can create as many tags as you want, assign tags and performers to videos, add favorite, rank videos and performers by stars etc. It's kind of like having your own private porn website interface.

important was standardizing of tags, so that it's always "big tits" for example and not big boobs so you find it on one category

this of course leads to some detail issues. for example i like big fake tits mostly but also sometimes naturals.
but if my category is "big fake tits", I won't find that tag under "big tits" - the category that would include both fake and natural tits.
"fake big tits" sounds kinda wrong. now that i think about it, maybe the best way would be to add another tag "silicone". and one called "naturals". there should not be any mixup with other tags that I can think of.

The data is automatically parsed everytime you import new content, so if you already have the performer / tags / websites in your setup, they will automatically be tagged.

The way I name things usually like this :
Performer - Name Of The Scene, Website - Tags.

You can also select multiple files and reparse the data if you want to refresh their tags etc at some point.

It's not too much work as long as you have good and consistent naming on your files.

The thing that takes the most time is creating the performer cards, especially if you add a second pic like me for when you move your mouse over them etc... but I don't know I find it kind of fun to do anyway, but it is time consuming when you have a lot of performers to do.

Also if you do try this app, be sure to uncheck "parse synonymes" when you add a new file, otherwise it will add a lot of other wrong performers to the files, because it go through all the different aliases that all your performers went through, and sometimes stuff can overlap.

the easiest would actually be to keep everything in the order that you downloaded it, making folders for every day/week/month depending on how much you're downloading. For even a very big set, if you have everything in the exact order it always was, you're going to remember where things are. Everyone has really good memories in certain ways they just have to do things in ways that align with those ways. Even if you do sort things more, you could still have anal 12/25, anal 1/26, etc. Instead of bothering naming everything.

Another way is separate styles of trees like I have my movies organized into genres, but then I also have other movies in other folders like I have comedy, but then I have Adam Sandler and well I decided I don't like him so I'm not going to download all his movies but if I did I'd put them all right there
