Hong Kong police have arrested 13 people over the alleged murder of a man in Hung Shui Kiu.
The arrests come after a man was found dead near a bridge in Hung Shui Kiu, near Yuen Long, at around 6am on Monday.
According to a police statement on Monday, officers found a 51-year-old man lying on Yick Yuen Road with head injuries. He was certified dead at the scene. Initial investigation suggested that he was attacked with a knife.
A seven-seater car was parked next to the body, and there were bloodstains on the ground, HK01 reported.
Police mobilised their forensics van, a mobile fingerprint laboratory launched last year. Officers from the tactical unit and personnel from the Government Laboratory were also at the scene.
Police said at a press conference on Tuesday that they arrested 13 people suspected of offences including murder, false imprisonment, and assisting an offender.
The arrests, carried out on Monday and Tuesday, involved 10 men and three women, aged between 25 and 65.

They were arrested in Tin Shui Wai, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, Tung Chung, and at the Hong Kong International Airport.
HK01 reported that two of the suspects were at the airport waiting to board their flight when officers apprehended them.
Other suspects are still on the run and have fled overseas, police said.
The case is believed to be linked to triad activity related to smuggling cigarettes.
Police from the New Territories North division’s Regional Crime Unit, who are investigating the case, have appealed for anyone with information to contact officers.
