the big flaw with "disorder-faker" exposing content is that it never considers the possibility that someone is genuinely afflicted but playing it up for the camera, and there's never a clear answer as to what genuine expression of a disorder would look like, short of filming a breakdown

i understand DID tiktoks now, even though i found them confusing and invalidating early on. like i made an account for nix but the truth is that i usually just feel like myself when i post there, im using the avatar and name in the hopes that ill feel more separate from everyone else.
because of that cause & effect it is so easy to psych myself into thinking i'm just making it all up, playing both sides of the conversations in my head, etc. so in some way i feel pressured to emphasize differences, even if we share a lotta space in here
so like, that person doing "alter intros" where they all have different costumes and are putting on different voices is probably subjectively experiencing much or all of that process as one set of eyes, cus this shit is confusing and they want to disambiguate/legitimize their system
but also, like, someone needs to be the voice of reason and give the scoop to the people who thought they might have it and discarded the idea because its "too extreme," these people are entertainers and their presentation of their disorder is a partial fiction
also like also the idea that someone faking plurality would need to be "exposed" in the first place like ok, cool, you called someone out for... possibly not having a neurodivergance
as if it would even be possible to prove someone was faking with how varied plurality is from brain to brain since a large chunk of it works off of that system's specific idiosyncrasies, origins, and beliefs
also to get any sort of medical help, if that safely applies to the disorder a person has, you Do have to play it up or else they wont really believe you most of the time
i've definitely found myself guilty of this hatred before
This always annoys me. Oh they're being a bit over the top, presenting sad things in a weirdly neutral/joyful tone and making quick statements without nuance? Yeah that's what the tiktok genre dictates. Like it or not but pointing this things out like some sort of proof is just media illiteracy
