Two buildings under construction at a large-scale development in Tai Wai will be demolished and rebuilt owing to safety concerns.

The Pavilia Farm development above the MTR station failed to pass safety tests in mid-June. New World Development informed the government and MTR Corporation of their findings on Thursday.

The developer said the building project will be delayed by nine months and it has launched an internal investigation into the situation. 846 people have already bought properties in the development.

The Buildings Department has expressed “great concern” and has launched an investigation into whether the developers violated the Buildings Ordinance.
