This is the latest project I’m working on.
The goal of this project is to breathe new life into Path of a Hero.

Improvements and Changes:

  • All dialogue has been improved
  • The narration have been improved
  • New events have been added, and existing events have been improved
  • All 14 characters from Path of a Hero will have a background and a role in the story
  • The story has been modified while maintaining the core of Path of a Hero
  • All maps have been rebalanced
  • The maps contain different enemies from the old version
  • All enemy equipment has been modified and can now carry different weapons.
  • All enemy AI has been modified.
  • Major game balance changes have been made.
  • New weapons have been added.
  • All equipment has been rebalanced.
  • All classes have had their stats adjusted.
  • All characters have had their growth adjusted.
  • Some new items have been added.
  • Shields now also provide magic defense.
  • The weapon triangle has been improved
  • All terrain bonuses have been adjusted (for example, the forest will give +15% Avoid and restore 10% HP).
  • Some bugs from the previous version have been fixed.
  • All shops have been adjusted.
  • Weapon prices have been adjusted based on their new balance.
  • The game experience has been increased.
  • The experience gained from defeating enemies has also been improved.
  • Hard mode has now been balanced for Fire Emblem veterans, while Normal mode is for those who want to follow the story.

New Story:
The story is similar to that of Path of a Hero, but the events have been changed and the characters backstory have been deepened.
The Project is complete.

Prologue:
Our heroes, under orders from their parents, set out on a training journey with the goal of supporting their parents and eventually ruling their respective regions in the alliance.
Their journey takes them to the Sacae Plains.
During the journey, Lyn discovers a boy unconscious and decides to help him.

First story arc:
The boy is kidnapped during a bandit attack on our heroes. After rescuing him from the prison of the bandits’ hideout, our heroes set out to discover the mysterious boy’s past. Their journey will lead them to meet new friends who will help them on their quest.

Side Story, selectable from Hector mode:
The story takes place after the group’s separation following the previous adventure.
Eliwood and Hector return to Pherae and after a small clash with Marcus, Lord Elbert, Eliwood’s father, entrusts our heroes with an important mission: to investigate the mysterious disappearances of some inhabitants of the village of Piata. Their journey will lead them to encounter some of the enemies who lurk in the shadows.

Second story arc, selectable from Eliwood mode:
Our heroes say goodbye after their previous adventure.
After a month, many things happen.
Mark is elected guardian, Lyndis can finally resume her long walks with her grandfather, while Ninian gazes at the flowery meadow every night in search of memories of the past. But something will happen one night, something that will change the lives of Mark and his friends.

Third story arc:
With the death of a dear person, the group sets sail for Laus.
Eliwood’s goal is to speak with Darin to stop the ongoing war within the alliance.
But their landing on Laus will be their first step to doom.

Fourth story arc:
A girl continues to fight the darkness, cherishing in her heart the memory of her beloved fallen in battle.
But is this the right path to take to bring peace back to the continent of Elibe?.

Ending:
Memories return, but what’s the point if the person you swore to protect is now about to be sacrificed?
Mark will have to find the strength within himself to save the girl tied to his memories of the past.

Weapons

Changes between the old and new versions:
Steel weapons have all received a +1 increase in strength without increasing their weight.
Silver weapons have all received a +2 increase in strength without increasing their weight.
Killer weapons have received a +2 increase in strength without increasing their weight.
Effect weapons have +2 strength and are more lethal but have fewer uses.
Ranged weapons have received a -10% hit reduction but are slightly lighter.
Light tomes all have a range of 3; their critical chance is now different for each tome used.
Bow weapons have all received a -5% hit reduction.
Physical ranged weapons such as Hand Axes or Javelins are much heavier.
Character special weapons have different names and uses in battle.
For example, Lyn’s special weapons increase her magic defense, while Eliwood’s increase his critical hit rate.
Shields now also provide magical defense but their physical defense bonus has been slightly reduced.

The new version was made with more attention to detail and a deeper understanding of the story.
The story should feel more mature and the characters less cartoonish.
The gameplay takes inspiration from Fallen Princess but has been adapted to Path of a Hero.
I hope you enjoy the new version.

Hector Mode is now selectable after Lyn Mode, and you can continue playing if you haven’t started Hector Mode or Eliwood Mode on the same ROM with the previous Demo.

The project was completed so quickly thanks to my dedication and the fact that I’ve had a lot of free time lately.
This project is complete, I’ll resume the project I started for another game.
This should be the definitive version of Path of a Hero.
In the future, I’ll definitely return to work on the sequel to Path of a Hero to improve the writing and gameplay.
