Two men have been charged with rioting for alleged participation in the mob attack in Yuen Long, a month after the incident on July 21.
The two men, 48 and 54, will appear at the Fanling Magistrates’ Courts on Friday.
The police arrested 28 people after the attack, and all were allowed bail. The two men are the first to be charged.
45 people were injured in the attack, including anti-extradition law protesters, journalists, a lawmaker and commuters. The police confirmed they received intelligence about the potential attack before it occurred, but treated it as low risk.
The police force have also been accused of failing to act quickly enough.
