“A cold front has reached Guangzhou, and it is expected to reach the coast during the day,” said Hong Kong Observatory Scientific Officer Wallace Chan.

“Temperatures will drop appreciably, while winds will strengthen from the north.”

Following the weekend washout, a fresh band of rain is also set to arrive in the city alongside the cold front.

However, warmer weather is expected beginning this weekend, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 20 degrees Celsius next Monday.
