Tropical Storm Bebinca continued to bring squally showers and thunderstorms to Hong Kong on Monday, but the chances of Strong Wind Signal No. 3 being issued before midnight remains relatively low, the Hong Kong Observatory says.
Bebinca was positioned approximately 210 kilometres south-southwest of Hong Kong at 5pm on Monday. It is expected to be slow-moving and erratic, lingering around the seas off the coast of western Guangdong.
The Standby Signal No. 1 has been in force since last Thursday.
The weather on Monday was mainly cloudy with a few squally showers, with heavier showers and thunderstorms expected for Tuesday. Temperatures will range between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius.
There will be moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, with occasionally strong offshore wind. Rough seas and swells are also expected.
The Observatory said that there will still be squally showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, but showers will ease off later in the week.
