Employees at Metro Radio in Hung Hom were evacuated on Wednesday after a package containing white powder was received in the post.

The police told HKFP that staff members at the Whampoa Garden headquarters alerted them at 12:16pm.

According to Apple Daily, several packets of white powder were contained within a manila envelope addressed to Li Ka-Shing, the city’s richest man. It cited a source as saying that police believed the substance to be powdered cooking starch upon preliminary examination.

The bomb squad were initially on the scene, though the Kowloon City district crime squad will now work to determine the sender’s motive.
