A man tried to rob a convenience store in Sham Shui Po using a nail file, according to local media. The attempt failed.

The attempted robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven store on Pei Ho Street at around 7:26am.

According to HK01, Apple Daily and Sing Tao, the suspect barged into the store and threatened a female employee with a nail file. The employee then called the police.

Patrol officers in the area arrested a man after arriving on the scene.

They made a preliminary determination that the convenience store did not suffer any losses. The scene was sealed for investigation.

Other sources, including TVB and Ming Pao, reported that the suspect was attempting to rob the store using nail clippers.
