The fourth edition of Wonderfruit – the world’s most beautiful festival – is set to take place next month right in the heart of Asia.

Pattaya may seem like an unlikely destination for a celebration of world music, art, food and eco-workshops, but Siam Country Club – in the resort city’s surrounding hills – is transformed into a self-sustaining village for four days.

The architecture, diversity and sheer size of the festival attract a global crowd and make it incomparable to anything densely-packed Hong Kong is able to offer.

With return flights starting from HK$1,000 and four-day tickets from HK$1,400, it also makes for an accessible long-weekend for Hongkongers.

The thoughtfulness of the choreography and eco-conscious design which goes into the weekend is unique – with music being only one part of it.

The site has its own lake and farm, there are countless sustainability-themed workshops and forums, comfortable safari tents and showers for partygoers, and a series of themed outdoor banquets throughout the festival.

Unlike most of its counterparts in the region, commercial branding is practically absent from the stages, and there is greater emphasis on attracting a diversity of acts, rather than big names.
