Paul Zimmerman, who is running in the Hong Kong Island constituency in Sunday’s Legislative Council election, has dropped out of the race.
Zimmerman held a Facebook live session at 7pm urging support for other pan-democratic candidates such as Nathan Law.
In the latest poll conducted by the University of Hong Kong’s Public Opinion Programme, he was polling at one per cent support, or 13th place, meaning he was unlikely to win a seat.
The announcement came moments after HKFP revealed that the Labour Party’s Suzanne Wu is also exiting from the race.
