Requirements
Dailymotion automatically generates subtitles for videos that meet the following criteria :
- Published by profiles with at least 100 views
- Set in one of these languages: French, English, Spanish, Turkish, German, Arabic or Italian
- Duration of less than 90 minutes
What are autogenerated subtitles?
Autogenerated subtitles allow Dailymotion users to easily access video transcripts and give them more ways to enjoy your content.
Auto subtitles don't require any extra action on your side when uploading content. Dailymotion is automatically generating them if your video is eligible.

Which videos are eligible for autogenerated subtitles?
If your profile language is set to one of the supported languages* and your profile has accumulated at least 100 views, your videos under 90 minutes in duration are eligible for autogenerated subtitles.
To check in which language your profile is set, follow these steps:
- From your Dailymotion Studio, navigate to Media > Content defaults.
- Your profile language is set in the Language field.
* Supported languages: French, English, Spanish, Turkish, German, Arabic and Italian.
Get accurate autogenerated subtitles
To get accurate autogenerated subtitles, we recommend setting the video language to the actual language of the video:
- By default, the video language is determined by the setting in Media > Content defaults > Language.
- You can also set the video language during the upload process using the Language field:
Note
Autosubtitles can only be generated in 1 language per content. If you need subtitles in multiple languages, you can manually add and manage subtitles from your Dailymotion Studio.
