Temperatures in Hong Kong are set to rise as high as 23 degrees Celsius on Monday afternoon, before a northeast monsoon brings chilly weather to the city later in the week.

Misty weather is expected for most of the week. “Under the influence of an easterly airstream, it will be humid with a few rain patches over the coastal areas of Guangdong in the next couple of days,” said the Hong Kong Observatory.

Temperatures will drop on Thursday night, with lows of 13 degrees expected on Friday. “A surge of the northeast monsoon is expected to reach southern China in the latter part of this week,” said the observatory.

The chilly weather is expected to last over the weekend.
