New development AVA 55 from the MT Sisters Limited has eliminated shower stalls in its 167 square-foot apartments, according to floor plans revealed on Thursday.

Most apartments in the new development, situated in Kowloon City, are smaller than 300 square feet and feature an open kitchen. Rooms vary from studio style to two-room arrangements.

Apple Daily reported that Choi Yan-fai, the project manager, said that there would be no shower stall or shower curtain, as they hoped that the space would be more flexible. He also said that “there is drainage in place,” in response to a reporter’s comment that “water will be all over the floor.”

It was also earlier revealed that there would be no clubhouse included with the development, and management fees would cost HK$4.5 per square foot. Apple Daily said that other developments in the area charge around HK$4, and also tend to have clubhouses. Tenants are scheduled to move into the building in 2019.
