The South China Morning Post said on Friday that content from the HK Magazine website will be transferred to its main website after operations cease next week.

On Wednesday it emerged that the company would be closing the free 25-year-old lifestyle and entertainment publication owing to challenging market conditions. The website and social media feeds were to be deleted from the internet shortly afterwards.

An SCMP spokesperson told HKFP on Friday that “online content will be migrated to SCMP.com.”

On Thursday, ex-HK Magazine editor Zach Hines urged fans to contact the SCMP and ask them to clarify their plans. “It is unthinkable that a newspaper of record would ever consider deleting content from its archive,” he wrote.

The spokesperson said that readers may keep an eye on the HK Magazine website for updates next week.
