A fire broke out at a residential building on Hennessy Road in Wan Chai at around 1pm on Tuesday. A domestic worker and two elderly people were sent to hospital for smoke inhalation.
Traffic and trams came to a halt as firefighters used two jets and mobilised two breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.
Carla Thomas, an eyewitness on the scene told HKFP, “The fire has spread to at least three floors, the source looks like the 8th floor and there’s loads of falling debris.”

Fire services responded to the incident at 12:47pm. The blaze was extinguished by 1:40pm.
