Traffic and trams came to a halt as firefighters used two jets and mobilised two breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.

Carla Thomas, an eyewitness on the scene told HKFP, “The fire has spread to at least three floors, the source looks like the 8th floor and there’s loads of falling debris.”
