A farmer in central China has built a plane-like structure which he intends to turn into a restaurant, according to state news agency Xinhua.

Sixty-one-year-old Wang Lanqun from Neihuang, Henan built the “aircraft” which “resembles the Boeing 737” in just one year, Xinhua said.

The structure is 35 metres long and had a wingspan of 38 metres. The “cabin” is two metres tall.

Wang is not the only farmer in China to have built a “plane.”

In 2012, a farmer in Shenyang, Liaoning province spent two years and about RMB40,000 (HK$48,000) to “realise his dream of being a pilot.”

Sadly, the aircraft, assembled from scrap metal, failed its test flight.
