Is there a joke in the title? Is it misspelled on purpose as click bait? Why is it highlighted in the screenshot? Is it to demonstrate the purpose of the software to archive old versions of websites to be able to reference them in screenshots?

Sorry for my poor English. The screenshots are mainly intended to show the main functions of the software. For example, storing snapshots of web pages, highlighting web pages, filtering web pages by filtering, and modifying the titles and tags of web pages.

There seems to be a lot of hate in the comments, but this is an amazing application!! I've been using Wallabag for a while, but that is more of a bookmark system.

Hamsterbase works more like an archivebox, where you can access the websites offline. That said, Hamsterbase could see several improvements that would make it better. I've played around with it a bit, and I've got a couple of suggestions that would make it better (ordered by my view of priority):

  • Allow for adding websites via the Hamsterbase website, vs. having to download the HTML and re-upload to Hamsterbase. I know this can be done via SingleFile, but it would be helpful to simply be able to provide the URL on Hamsterbase's front page.

  • Currently, the delete button is buried behind a side window, which is hard to find and inconvenient. Please allow users a delete button on the front page.

  • Better mobile support or an iOS app. Hamsterbase is almost unusable on a cellphone.

  • Login page, with user support.

  1. you can ctrl + s to save to the inbox folder and then import automatically. There is no need to download and then upload.

  2. Saving the url directly in the software can be difficult to deal with due to paywalls, account logins, etc., so I chose not to develop this feature. If you need to save a large number of URLs, I would recommend the singlefile bulk save feature.

  3. Hamsterbase supports exporting views to rss. If you want to read it on your phone, you can create a view and then subscribe to it using the rss reader. (The desktop side requires the api server to be enabled)

  4. you can send feedback via GitHub issus

Just an advisory: This is not open source software.

Just making that clear since folks may have that expectation after seeing the GitHub link, and since most software shared here is open source.

Well, the project is not currently open source.

  1. the sdk directory of the repository provides the sdk of the mit protocol

  2. the release directory provides compressed js source code, you can fork the project and build your own docker image.

  3. the project itself does not rely on any closed source binaries.

Your EULA specifically prevents this. To quote it:

You may not: (1) increase, by any means whatsoever, the number of connections supported by the Software and licensed to You or support more than one connection or user through a single connection; (2) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except and only to the extent it is expressly permitted by applicable law; (3) modify, alter, rent, timeshare or lease the Software or sublicense any of Your rights under this Beta Agreement; or (4) transfer the Software or Your license rights under this Beta Agreement, in whole or in part.
