Two trucks collided on Yuen Long Highway.

The driver in the truck behind was trapped, suffering injuries to his head and chest, according to Commercial Radio. The 53-year-old was pulled out in a coma by firemen and rushed to Pok Oi Hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead.

The other driver, 49, was also injured and hospitalised – he remains in a stable condition. He reportedly told police that – according to company rules – two trucks on duty should be at least 25 metres away from each other and the speed limit was 40km per hour.

It was not known whether either driver violated the rules. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
