The 21-year-old fell onto a third-floor platform from the 18th floor staircase of his apartment block at around 11pm, reported Oriental Daily. The victim was a sophomore student from the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering.

Before he leapt, the victim shared a picture of the staircase on Instagram and said he was unhappy because of family issues. His mother and sister, who were at home at the time, were “shocked” and “heartbroken,” the newspaper said.
