A 50-year-old Hong Kong man was arrested on suspected intentional homicide in Huizhou, Guangdong on Tuesday after he allegedly killed and dismembered a mainland Chinese woman.

The factory owner was held after police found remains of the woman, also 50, in a local river, reported state-owned agency China News Service (CNS).

The victim’s daughter told police on August 19 that her mother had been missing for two days. Officers retrieved the remains in the Jinshan River last weekend after a two-day search, CNS said.

Police believe the victim and the suspect were in a relationship, according to CNS.
