The 3D motion simulator lets participants ride with Iron Man and battle through the streets of Hong Kong.

A team from the United States joined forces with a local production crew and filmed shots of Hong Kong’s streets and skyline for use in the ride.

Marvel Comics favourite Iron Man, also known as Tony Stark, has a history of being immortalized in film and on television, including 2008’s eponymous live action feature starring Robert Downey Jr., which garnered three Oscar nominations.

Hong Kong Disneyland announced plans for an Iron Man-based area in 2013. The project was mentioned in Financial Secretary John Tsang’s 2013-2014 budget speech. It is set to open in late 2016.

Earlier, a report from the Legislative Council said Hong Kong has failed to produce any outstanding or notable tourist attractions since 2005. It also said Hong Kong’s weak inbound tourism means it should do more to either develop tourist attractions or build on existing ones.
