According to the Observatory, Kujira was estimated to be about 580 kilometres south-southwest of Hong Kong as of 8am. It is forecast to move north or north-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour in the general direction of Hainan Island and western Guangdong.

The Observatory said the chance of issuing the Strong Wind Signal No.3 during the day on Monday is not high.
