A middle aged Hong Kong woman was chopped and bloodied by a mainland friend wielding dual cleavers in a row over money.
The woman, who was in her 40s, owed a debt to a friend, a man also in his 40s from mainland China. After refusing to pay the debt, the mainland man grabbed the kitchen knives and attacked the woman, slashing her in the head and face.
Local media reported that the attack took place on Friday morning in the woman’s flat in Sham Shui Po. Following the hacking, the woman ran out of her flat and exited the building onto Lai Chi Kok Road. Passerby alerted the police after she was found covered in blood sitting on the curb near a commercial building.

Police went to her aid and she was taken immediately to hospital. Police arrested a man suspected of being involved with the attack and seized two blood-stained knives from the woman’s home. Police later confirmed that the mainland male suspect held a two-way permit.

According to MingPao, the woman owed at least HK$10,000. The woman’s home was located at Tung Shing Court on Nam Cheong Street.
