A video has surfaced of a man slapping a bus driver after being told that services were suspended due to yesterday’s T8 warning.
While Typhoon Linfa left Hong Kong unscathed, the bus driver was taken to hospital following the attack, which was caught on camera by a passenger waiting at a bus terminal.
After being told that services had stopped running, the man shoved his 34-year-old victim to the ground and slapped him hard across the face, according to Ming Pao.
After launching his attack the the man yelled “you’ll pay for this”, before he stormed out of the Tin Heng Estate Kowloon Motor Bus Terminus in Tin Shui Wai. Other drivers at the scene didn’t appear to react to the violence.
Police arrived at the terminus after the man had left, and sent the injured driver to Tuen Mun Hospital, according to Apple Daily. The attacker is now listed as wanted by the police and is identified as being between 40 and 50 years old.
One Facebook user posted: “It doesn’t matter whose fault it is, violence is always wrong! He must be stopped by the police!” Another said: “Why didn’t anyone help him [the driver]? There is no hope for Hong Kong any more.”
