As some people have noticed in another thread, I'm a complete newbie at this but also not dense. However I got curious and contacted a deriheru through CityHeavenTraveller (Shinjuku OppaiMart), they told me through LINE that I neede to call them.

Sure, I can do that, roaming calls are a bit expensive but no sweat, the problem is that whenever I tried to call, I would get a pre recorded message saying the number is out of service after ringing for a second.

Do I need a Japanese number to make reservations?

Lol, sounds like Japanese logic. I mean if the advertise on a CH Traveler page that is aimed at tourists, it doesn't make a lot of sense to ask for a phonecall 😅

That's what I was thinking, some even have Line or wechat as form of contact but only accept calls anyways, maybe I'll drop by Yoshiwara.

Contact the lady directly through Twitter etc. explain you have no Japanese phone maybe?

As a tourist, you can get a SIM at most airports that furnish a real number, it's just that including voice service costs more.

The only SIM with voice service you can get if not mistaken is with mobal, which I paid for package of 7500 yen.

Japan is one of, if not the only country that doesn't sell sim cards with a number.
You have to subscribe or rent one.

Like I said in another thread, you can rent a sim or a phone for voice calls.
There are many sites, simple google search will provide at least 5.
I used anyfone to rent a number previously.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I was also thinking about renting a number.
