An Australian man was arrested after allegedly groping a Cathay Pacific flight attendant at Hong Kong International Airport on Tuesday.
The 60-year-old reportedly “hugged the 23-year-old flight attendant from behind” as the Zurich-bound flight CX383 prepared for departure at 11:50pm, according to Chinese-language newspaper The Sun.
The flight attendant felt her buttocks were touched, the report said. She told the plane’s pilot about the incident and the police were notified at around midnight.
The man was taken away from the cabin and the flight was delayed for nearly an hour and a half, The Sun said. The victim was also taken to the airport’s police station and missed the flight.
Update (16:35pm): The suspect, Amstutz Peter Bernhard, appeared in court on Thursday charged with indecent assault. The case was adjourned to July 30. He was released on HK$2,000 bail, according to local media Headline Daily.
