In English, ethnic French are not forced to call themselves ethnic “Gauls”, just because there are ethnic minorities in France; ethnic Czech are not forced to call themselves ethnic “Bohemians”, just because there are ethnic minorities in Czechia; ethnic Romanians are not forced to call themselves ethnic “Dacians”, just because there are ethnic minorities in Romania; ethnic Turks are not forced to call themselves ethnic Anatolians, just because there are ethnic minorities in Turkey
After living with our exclusive English ethnonym “Chinese” for hundreds of years, why should we ethnic Chinese be forced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to call ourselves ethnic “Han” in English, just because there are ethnic minorities in China to pretend there is a synthetic pseudo-ethnicity above us all?
We are the namesake of our own country China, just like other titular nations all over the Eurasian continent
If we would be called ethnic “Han”, if China were only a decentralised multi-ethnic political shell like the New World country United States without a natural ethnic indentity presiding its derived civic indentity, why wouldn’t you call our Chinese language as “Han” language; why wouldn’t you call our Chinese characters as “Han” characters?
We are the Chinese nation (ethnic Chinese); not all Chinese citizens (Chitizens) belongs to the Chinese nation
Chinese ≠ Chitizens Kazakhs ≠ Kazakhstanis Malays ≠ Malaysians
Ethnic harmony ≠ Identity robbery
Defending our ethnonym is defending our own country
