Fissure - help
Not sure this is the right place to ask but I’m hoping there are people here who would have some answers.
I’ve been dealing with a chronic fissure for about 8-9 months. For the last 4-6 weeks there’s been improvement and I’ve been having pain free bowel movements with the help of Movicol and magnesium citrate. Recently I ran out of my magnesium and I thought it would be okay since it’s been a few weeks of healing and this morning I had some “comet poop” with a very small initial bit being a bit hard and then the rest was fine. There is now a slight burning and throbbing. Clearly the fissure is nowhere near being healed if just this little caused pain.
My question is, how long can the fissure take to heal? Realistically speaking. I don’t mean superficial healing. I mean the kind where just a little bit of hard stool won’t derail all my progress or where I know that the wound has actually healed throughout?
Fissures can be lifelong and chronic.
So it would just never heal?
Possibly, not always
