Cityheaven and phone verification

I'm a long term Tokyo resident but I never got around registering to Cityheaven, as I don't want to link my main phone number to it.

As it happens, I'm about to resiliate a secondary line I had for some other purpose, and I was thinking that before that, I could use that number as a burner to register/verify an account.
So here's a simple question: do the shops call you, are there SMS confirmation coming for booking? Anything that would make it pointless to register with a number I will soon not be able to access anymore?

I understand that the number and its activity is legally linked to my identity, this is about reducing social risk/privacy.
Please don't judge 🙂

Thanks.

Just do what everyone else does and get a cheap sim for hobbying. If your phone supports dual SIM, you can keep the second one disabled until you need it.

Yes they do call you and they will usually keep your number on record for future reference.

SMS confirmations are not common. They will call you.

You can put down a different phone number when making an appointment than the one used to register the account...but I think that doesn't change a lot.

You can use a temporary to register with CityHeaven, after the registration the number isn't really used at all. When you book on CityHeaven, you can just use a different number. I have my CityHeaven account that was registered under a different phone number than my active Japan phone number and I only recently bothered to switch and nothing happened to it.

Hi guys,

Sorry for bumping this thread but thought I would just hijack this thread instead of creating a new one.

I've been to few stores before but they were all walk-ins

I plan on reserving a girl on cityheaven the next time I'm back in Japan but am not too sure of the process.

I read some posts mentioning that you should call the shop about an hour before your appointment to confirm the booking. But I've seen some posts saying that they would call you instead. So do I call them or wait for their call? 🤔

If I do call them, do I just tell them the details of my reservation? I can speak some serviceable Japanese.

Also before reserving a girl, is it a good idea to message them on CH or LINE to ask if they are ok with a foreigner?

Thanks!

If you can message the girl on line or CH ask her to book it for you. Sometimes you don't have to talk to the shop at all if she arranges everything

Thanks for the reply!

That would be the best case scenario if the girl can help with reservation but assuming I do the reservation myself on CH only, what would be the proper procedure for this?

Thanks!

Booking on CH is a hassle for foreigners imo. Easier to do LINE or Twitter with the provider you want to book. The economics may also be better for the provider but that's anecdotal.

The shop will tell you; "we will call you an hour before the time" or "please call us the morning of " etc. follow the instructions on CH.

Or again just have her book you and deal with her directly. Most ladies take direct appointments via line / Twitter.

With soap lands and twitter bookings through girl I learnt that the confirmation phone call can be avoided by paying in advance at the shop a day or two prior to appointment.

Time consuming but one option if you don't have a Japanese number or dont know Japanese.

Not recommended. This may come as a surprise, but the ladies in this industry aren't always the most reliable or stable of people, and on-the-day cancellations are somewhat common.

Depends a bit on what you mean with store. In general I would always ask before sending off a reservation. There are quite a few soaplands that are ok with foreigner walk-ins but won't allow foreigners to make appointments. Huge pain in the ass.

At hotel health you can usually book without problems if they are used to dealing with foreigners.

Basic booking via cityheaven is the following. You fill out the forms to tell them who you want to book, they call you 15 minutes later to verify that everything is fine....or that the schedule was not up to date and only a later slot is available etc. If they don't call you or you booked late after business hours you may have to call them yourself to verify. They will also tell you to verify a second time on the day, an hour prior to the appointment.

If a shop knows you, they might skip the first verification and just send you a message via chat. Phonecall one hour prior on the other hand is necessary in 90% of the cases.

The only shops I know ,which SMS confirmations are available, are all under Group Age, which all of their shops are foreigners NG.

Here is the page of one of their shop,Celeb, which stated how to do SMS confirmation (in Japanese)

Thanks for the replies guys.

Guess the safest way would be through any twitter DM or LINE with the girl. And if I do the booking through cityheaven it's best to have backup plans or other options.
