I remember a time when I had hope for technology.

The appification and gig-economofication of even the most basic human interactions is a terrible thing

google streets? he had the address

Would be funny if the guy thought that he delivered it because Ai showed it, like he found ai lifehack.

good, doordash-users deserve hell

Why do americans have these glass doors that let strangers see inside their homes
>>
>>107681633 (OP)
This 100% happened and it's not a redditor making shit up for attention.

>>

Ah, now I'm vindicated for my Thanksgiving dinner rants about how jewgle streetview would come back to bite us in the ass 15 years ago.
>>
>>107683226
>>107682440
you can submit a photo of your door on the app to help drivers find it
otherwise: >>107683392

>let strangers see inside their homes
As if people have never build houses with windows.
>>
>>107683375
there is next to no human review for these apps anymore.
speaking to a real human for ubereats for example is near impossible now.
>>
why the fuck did I not come up with this idea
god depression makes me retarded
time to order some drugs to fix that (depression, not the retard part)
>>
Sounds like easily identifiable scam, as the driver must have the gps active at all times, shouldn't be able to mark shit as delivered unless its at like within 50m of the customer address.
>>
>>107683490
Faking GPS data is easy, even without rooting the phone you can broadcast fake NMEA sentences and cell tower ids with an SDR radio.
>>
>>107683547
Apps can easily tell when the gps is spoofed, like, try running pokemon go without getting banned for spoofing the gps and tell me how it goes.
>>
>>107682995
Not everywhere is inner city Detroit. Lots of homes are in low crime, high trust areas where random people don't show up at your house to peer through the door while casing the place. For that house, I'm willing to bet all of the bedrooms are on the second floor, which can't be seen from the front door.
>>
>>107683585
Yes, there are many ways to reduce the likeliness of fooling the app. For games, it's worth investing the time to do so. For food delivery apps, they're not going to invest the resources to do so, preferring for the customer to report the situation instead. It's bad customer service but these companies are all about controlling IT expenses.
>>
>>107683602
Yet you cannot post a single example of said fake gps data not being caught, you're just talking on hypotheticals.

this same shit happened to me an hour ago. the DoorDash driver used an AI image of my house that looked 100% real. here is the pic

I think at some point soon, doordash and other delivery things will require locked down phones to ensure any submitted images really came from the camera.
>>
>>107681633 (OP)
I have hope for technology

Robowaifus, here I come!
>>
>>107685439
They already completely ignore GPS signals and rely on Google location services, my GPS antenna straight up can't get a fix and it still lets me do gigs, gig apps have a bigger issue with the quality of their workers, I get so many customer messages saying DO NOT LEAVE ON STREET USE [gate code] TO REACH MY FRONT DOOR ", you really only get kicked off the platform after a long string of non-deliveries.
>>
>>107681633 (OP)
This is nothing, customers have already been able to scam the drivers delivering their order by calling them up pretending to be Uber support or whatever and saying the delivery is canceled you just need to give your login details and the 5 digit SMS code to get paid for it and they get in and drain the account and ppl still fall for it lmao

you joke of a human being
Not to mention it's not an issue of crime you mindbroken freak
>>
>>107681633 (OP)
Bullshit. I’ve driven for DoorDash before; you have to pick up the food first before getting the home address. So doing this wouldn’t be as easy as taking an order from home and fabricating a streetview shop
>>
>>107683585
I'm talking about a proper setup with Faraday cages and external radios to make believe the phone itself not the app that it is in another place, if you're planning to scam people out of money it is an small investment.
>>
>>107686703
No, you pick up the food, then see if you can fake the delivery. If not, you deliver the food. If you can, you fake it, and take the next order. Even if this only works for like 20% of all orders, that's still 20% more orders fulfilled in the same time span.

At least the pattern makes it difficult to see what is going on inside. In Australia most new houses just have large, regular, window glass sheets.

"Horses plow the fields while machines write books." I don't think Orwell knew at the time how accurate Goldstein's musings would turn out to be.

It's not hiding if no one is looking but I'm sure you really felt smart for repeating something you saw on plebbit in the wrong context. So enjoy your ill gotten dopamine hit.
>>
>>107681633 (OP)
If it becomes rampant enough we'll just go back to going to pick up food ourselves. Either that or the delivery drivers get replaced by robots.
>>
>>107682995
Easier to see what's outside from inside compared to one of those door peep holes. If you need privacy, you can put up shades.
