Klonoa Chronicles #51! The deadline for Klonoa’s development schedule was fast approaching.
スケジュールは順調に遅れていました。 当初考えていたよりも3D空間を味わってもらうためのマップは大きく、そして見える範囲も広かったのです。
We were well behind schedule. The maps were larger and more visible than we had originally thought, to give people a taste of the 3D space.
作ってみるとマップはどんどん大きくなり、作業量は当初の想定よりも遥かに増えてしまいました。いろいろと問題も発生して、創り直さなければならないマップも出てきます。
As we started working on the maps, they got bigger and bigger, and the amount of work we had to do was much larger than we had originally expected. Various problems arose, and some maps had to be recreated.
太陽の神殿などは通常の倍ぐらいのボリュームになり、各セクションの作業は順に遅れが目立ち始めました。 このままのペースでは締め切りに間に合いそうにない…

そこで……… 当初8ステージ、16面で考えていたんですが、バッサリ2ステージ4面カットする事に決めました。
So……… I was originally thinking of 8 stages and 16 sections, but I decided to cut out 2 stages and 4 sections.
これを進捗会で発表するとスタッフは「え~~!」「大丈夫なのぉ~~?」と騒ぎになりました。 でも実はこれは万が一の事を考えて当初から考えていた事だったのです。 いわゆる想定内というやつです。 つづく
