Klonoa Chronicles #38! Another week, another episode on the Phantomile language!
To be truthful, there wasn’t exactly any proper grammar set in place. -sweat- That is to say, some attempts were made such as “Fia” meaning “I am” and “Fiaru” meaning “We are”.
“Fia Kuroa” is “I am Klonoa”, “Fiaru to~urara~” is “We are going around.” The rest is the result of the sound staff’s painstaking editing to match the dialogue, and it’s called Phantomile.
All of the characters were voiced by the staff except for Klonoa and Huepow. I was particularly surprised to hear the voice of Ghadius, who was the chief producer of all the CG movies, including the opening movie. This majestic, yet evil, low-pitched voice is superb, isn’t it?
Mr. H, who played the role of Grandpa in this project, was also very good. He was in the drama club when he was in school, and that’s how he was able to give that great performance at the time of his death.
Natori-san, who played the role of Lephise, is now working as a Tales of scenario writer and novelist, so some of you may know her. When I interviewed her for the job, I asked her what she had done as a student, and she told me that she had won a prize of one million yen for a novel she had written as a hobby, and that she had traveled to Europe for a month, so I hired her. By the way, she also sang the song for the playback of the last scene. To be continued
