A hot weather warning is currently in force in 90 cities across China including Beijing and Guangzhou, according to the China Meteorological Administration.
The Chinese capital has seen temperatures in excess of 38 degrees Celsius in the past three days. On Monday, Beijing issued the first level 2 hot weather warning of the year, the second highest level, as temperatures rose to 40 degrees Celsius. The warning was still in force on Tuesday with highs of 38 degrees Celsius predicted.
People and animals alike are using all means to cool off as citizens break out the parasols, umbrella hats and facekinis.
