I used an old portable version (98) that I still had laying around on this machine, with ublock and 4chanx, Cloudflare sucks huge titties though and is slow or sometimes fails the challenges (unless it just needed some kind of training first). If there is one thing that will do in this old netbook, it is the lack of browser support and compatibility. Though the need to migrate to Linux as I had already been planning to do may be mitigated depending on whether or not Supermium works. Not sure about email clients or banking though and whether or not it is a good idea on this machine.

i have a client whos table only works on xp, i trash picked a optiplex 780, downloaded the xp system deployment cab and it was going in a couple hours, didnt even need to activate due to having some dell xp disks with slic. no updates, turned off all the networking shit and disabled the ethernet in bios since its a air gapped system. super snappy with a e8400 and 4gb ram, added a molex exhaust fan, repeat in 3 years when the ram slots fail.

Posting from a W7 T520 Thinkpad, maxxed out w/16gb of ram and the quad i7. It's still as snappy as the first day. I got to use a W11 computer last week, my cousins one, some laptop with a newish ryzen 5 or something. It was kinda laggy compared to mine except when browsing javascript heavy websites.

I'm not using this computer and OS because I'm a nigger hipster faggot or anything lol I just kind of reached justfuckmyshitup levels that shouldn't be possible. So that means I needed the most reliable computer, this baby hasn't seen a single Bluescreen ever (ok it did once like 6 years ago). Perfect 120+ days and more uptime, no updootes, no forced reboots, no weird telemetry eating up my cpu and i/o.

Windows 7 is great, but I personally prefer XP. I used to daily drive Mint for 6 years, then switched to XP because I realized I don’t actually need anything more. It’s fast and extremely customizable even more than Linux. I was worried about going online at first, but MyPal does a lot to keep things secure
